Abstract Mosaics Inspired by Nature cohort one
Learn how to create abstract mosaic art, inspired by images from nature.
You will take inspiration from photographs of nature, learning how to extract the key elements to create a successful composition. You'll be guided on material selection and techniques to help you create a final piece of abstract mosaic art that you can be proud of.
Techniques for manipulating the images will be demonstrated. These, combined with guidance on composition, will help you define the key elements to use in your design.
Properties of your materials such as shape, surface and size will be considered as well as how to create contrast or harmony between elements.
To ensure you are comfortable with the techniques and understand the course content, there will also be two 'clinic' sessions. One held part way through the course and the other at the end. At these sessions you can put into practice what you have been learning, ask questions, get feedback on your work and see what others are making.
Six live sessions, held via zoom:
Four of these sessions will cover the course content.
Two of these sessions will provide live student support.
Written handouts to download and keep.
Membership of a private community group to share work and ask questions.
